Implant Placement

Of all the ways to replace missing teeth, there is none that feels more natural, or lasts longer on average, than with dental implants.  A dental implant can replace an individual tooth, or multiple implants can be used to replace several teeth.  Our success rate is over 95%, so almost all of our implants are accepted by the body and are able to serve as the foundation for replacing natural teeth.

Implant Restoration

If the placement of implants is successful, and they become firmly attached to the surrounding bone, the next step is to utilize the implants in replacing missing teeth.  This can be done in a number of ways: implant crowns, implant bridges, implant over- dentures, and implant-connected dentures.

Tooth Implants are a great way to replace missing teeth.  Here is how it works.  The first stage of the treatment is when we place the implants into the jaw.  Once that’s done, we normally give the implants about 3 to 4 months to heal and make sure that the body accepts it.  After that is completed, then we are able to build false teeth onto the implants.  There are several ways in which implants can help replace missing teeth.  First of all, individual implants can be covered with crowns which stay in the mouth and feels very natural.  A second use for dental implants is underneath dentures.  When dentures do not fit or stay in well, implants can be use to secure the dentures.  The denture would snap into place and doesn’t come out until the patient wants it to.

Dental Implants

Dental implants, available at our City Center office located in Newport News, VA, are artificial titanium tooth roots placed directly into the jawbone. Since titanium is very compatible with biological tissue, the roots are securely integrated into your mouth. As alternatives to conventional dentures or bridges, dental implants are an excellent solution for missing teeth, since they serve both an aesthetic and functional purpose. Once the tissue and bone around the dental implant have healed, the dental implant is covered with an aesthetic crown for a natural appearance. To ensure that your treatment is as effective and relaxed as possible, we offer various ways to keep you comfortable, such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation.  To learn more about dental implants, contact our City Center office, located in Newport News, Virginia.
